Batwoman design

So... let's say that you're inspired by Batman, and have access to lots of funding... but your'e not getting your equipment through the same channels.... Your old man is ex military and your wife is a cop but your'e a martial artist...

Where does that leave the design of your costume? Surely there would be some similarities with Bruce and Dick... but there are going to be remarkable differences as well... You need the same type of armor, nightvision, utilities and general protection... but pardon the pun... your'e sort of winging it.

Well that's where Batwoman is.  She's part of the Bat family but they don't exactly share a cave. She got the mask (rebreather included because of course it is), and the ears. She got the armor (even down to her own neck guard with a voice modulator.).. but its HERS... Her reasons. Her way. Her style.

Kate doesn't mind a little extra color in her costume, so long as that color is red. I kept that element... but you guys know me and head protection... She's mortal and susceptible to major injury if she didn't protect the top of her dome... So yes, my Batwoman has a full helmet... Her hair was a bit of a dead giveaway flying around like that in the usual design... and even if it wasn't then it was definitely a liability in a fight. BUT, anyone who has ever had long flowing luxurious thick hair... knows that it will NOT all tuck neatly up under a helmet... Solution? WARRIOR BRAID!! LOL.

Other big differences for her from Dick and Bruce are that her eye protection isn't as fancy. She uses yellow lenses to see better in the dark, but there aren't any cameras or night vision built into them. She carries actual Night vision goggles just in case, but they aren't built in. She's a Kane not a Wayne after all.

I don't think that helmet suits her personally. Mind you it looks awesome, but it feels more right for Jason Todd or a Sith Lord than for Batwoman. I'd have kept the traditional bat cowl myself.
