Yes she is different!

She changed colors. Why did she change colors? Because everyone on the team knows she's a white martian. Jon got tired of being humanoid and M'gann got tired of pretending to be green... the difference is that as a green Martian Jon, while physically very alien to a human, isn't exactly terrifying. White martians on the other hand are just a little more than most humans can handle. I wanted to allow her to be her, but to display her own personality. She is fun. She's cute. She's strong, but she is a little unsure of herself. Martians age differently. She is old enough to join the league. She's older than most of it's members... but relatively speaking, she is still very young.

I'ts not like she goes full human but she doesn't really wanna look like her people either. M'gann actually prefers to look a little different... So as a huge tv fan (thank you young justice) she actually prefers to look like her favorite characters... She's a little whimsical, still finding her own preferences. Lately she has been watching a lot of fantasy and anime... The ears are part of her claiming her own identity. I came really close to giving her a tail. In human form she can still be whatever she wants... but I decided early on that for whatever reason (and yes it is cultural appropriation on her part, but so is everything any of the alien members do) she presents herself as a redheaded freckled Asian woman. (Shapeshifters, they can do whatever they want.)

She doesn't NEED armor, or a cape, or anything else... that's not even real clothing. Its all a part of her. 100 percent her from head to toe... that's sort of fun

Her look has a good deal in common with the Manhunter naturally. They are the only 2 martians on the team and they do want to promote that association... but I thought that it was important to distinguish them. I gave her a cape this time. I made her clothing green and I generally just took her in a direction that I felt fit the character in a new but suiting way. 

Oh yeah, I am calling her Misses Martian now too for a reason. My version of M'gann got married... twice. Still Married too.
